She completed her 4-year Family Medicine speciality at the University of Stellenbosch and her medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand.

A Specialist Family Physician after obtaining their medical degree joins the Family Medicine specialist postgraduate programme at a medical university.
Similar to how a Paediatrician undergoes a 4-year specialist training in Paediatrics and a Physician does 4- year specialist training in adult medicine, a Specialist Family Physician does 4 years of specialist training in Family medicine.
